Ambassador Amaka Judith Nweke JP is the founder and driving force behind Women Support Women Community Network (WOSCONET). A distinguished advocate, public servant, and community leader, she has dedicated her life to advancing the rights and empowerment of women, children, and marginalized groups across Nigeria.
Her career spans decades of service in government, diplomacy, and civil society. Known for her eloquence, tenacity, and genuine compassion, Amb. Nweke is regarded as one of Nigeria's most respected voices for women's rights and social justice.
Amb. Amaka Judith Nweke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and has undertaken extensive professional development in public administration, gender studies, and international relations.
She has served in various capacities within the Nigerian government, as a Justice of Peace (JP), and as a diplomatic representative — earning the title of Ambassador through her distinguished service in international advocacy and bilateral engagement.
Her career has been defined by her ability to build bridges — between government and community, between policy and practice, and between women across different regions and backgrounds.
As founder of WOSCONET, Amb. Nweke conceived and built an organization with ten advocacy pillars addressing the full spectrum of challenges facing women and girls: governance, education, health, economic empowerment, disability rights, children's rights, menstrual hygiene, WASH, climate, and peace and security.
Under her leadership, WOSCONET has conducted outreach programs reaching thousands of women and girls, distributed essential resources to underserved communities, organized training workshops and leadership summits, and engaged directly with policymakers to advance gender-responsive legislation.
She has represented WOSCONET at national and international forums, forging partnerships with United Nations agencies, government ministries, and civil society organizations in pursuit of the SDGs — particularly SDG 5 on gender equality.
